The Empire Strikes Back

You had to know that Ben Stein wasn’t going to get off his anti-scientific-atheist blast without retaliation from the anti-religious crowd. So, I give you Religulous, the new documentary from none other than anti-religion zealot, Bill Mahr. Check out the trailer above.

We’ll see what the response to and success of this effort is. Based on the trailer, it appears that Mahr has decided to take the low road by attacking the everyday Christian and doing his best to make them look ridiculous. When contrasted with Ben Steins’s interviews of atheism’s heavy-weights, Mahr comes off like a bully picking a fight with the littlest kids on the playground while doing his best to avoid “big brother.” I think I’ll probably go see the movie, just to be fair and to make sure I’m giving Mahr a chance to prove me wrong.

But, my biggest worry is that someone on the fence about Christ will see the movie and decide against being saved just to avoid this kind of ridicule.
